Practice Philosophy

At times you make mistakes. Other times you are careless and reckless. Then there are those times when you are absolutely innocent. When a city or state government charges a crime, it puts the defendant up against a powerful and well-funded adversary. In fact, it can feel like the entire system is against you. We recognize the feeling of helplessness, anger and fear, and step up to assume the role of advocate and defender.

While laws and law enforcement are necessary for the protection and stability of society there must be checks and balances. Police and prosecutors must be held to a strict burden of proof. It simply comes down to the principle that the end does not justify the means.

For many, contact with the criminal justice system represents a crossroads in life. We realize that difficult times can create opportunity for lasting change. Whether it is alcohol, drugs, or helplessness revealing itself in anger or violence, we are here to advise, comfort, challenge, and protect.
